Office Happenings

  Field Trips
One of the highlights of the 3rd-grade year is a field trip to our office. Interested teachers can call our office and arrange for a fun and informative visit to learn how teeth move and to interact with our staff on a variety of topics. We divide the groups up and send them to 5 different stations to learn about impressions, braces, tooth brushing, digital photography and dental anatomy. It is always good for children who may be a little fearful of the orthodontist to come to our office and find out Dr. Harris is not such a scary guy. They might even find out he has a few magic tricks up his sleeve.

School Visits

We feel it is so important to teach children at the earliest possible time the importance of taking care of their teeth. Habits learned early on can have an effect throughout life. It has been shown that those who take good care of their mouths have overall better health than those who have gum disease and severe dental caries. To do our part in this important area, we provide class visits to any 1st-grade class that requests them. Two of our capable staff members will go to your school and teach tooth-brushing techniques in a fun and interactive way using Alex the alligator. The kids love dressing up like the assistant and having their picture taken in front of their class. So teachers and parents, please call us to set up a visit to your 1st grade.
